Redmi has launched the Note 17 Pro and Note 17 Pro Max in India, expanding its Note 17 smartphone lineup with a strong focus on battery capacity and durability. The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max packs a 10,000mAh battery, while the Note 17 Pro gets a 9,000mAh cell.
The two smartphones feature 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED displays with a 120Hz refresh rate and run HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. The Pro Max is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset, while the Pro uses the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4. Both phones feature 50-megapixel primary rear cameras and support 5G connectivity.

Redmi Note 17 Pro, Note 17 Pro Max Price in India and Availability
The Redmi Note 17 Pro starts at Rs 36,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. The 8GB + 256GB version costs Rs 39,999. The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max starts at Rs 49,999 for 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, while its 12GB + 256GB variant is priced at Rs 55,999.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro will go on sale in India from September 17, while the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max will be available from September 23. The phones will be sold through Amazon and Xiaomi’s online and retail channels. Launch offers include bank discounts of up to Rs 5,000, depending on the model, bank and eligibility.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro is offered in Cloud Blue, Purple Vibe and Stealth Black colours. The Pro Max comes in Matcha Green, Secret Sunrise and Stealth Black, with Secret Sunrise featuring a photochromic finish.

Redmi Note 17 Pro Max Specifications and Features
The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max comes with a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display offering a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel supports HDR10+, Dolby Vision, up to 3,500 nits peak brightness and high-frequency PWM dimming. It also supports a high instantaneous touch sampling rate of up to 3,200Hz.
The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s 4nm Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset with an octa-core CPU clocked at up to 2.6GHz. It is available with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.1 storage. The Pro Max also carries IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for protection against dust and water.
For photography, the Pro Max gets a 50-megapixel primary camera with OIS and an f/1.5 aperture, paired with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. A 32-megapixel front camera handles selfies and video calls. The phone can record video at up to 4K resolution at 30fps.
The biggest hardware highlight is the 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery. It supports 100W wired charging and up to 27W wired reverse charging, allowing the phone to also supply power to compatible devices.

The Redmi Note 17 Pro uses the same 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 3,500 nits peak brightness. It also gets the same IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K protection ratings as the Pro Max.
Under the hood, the Redmi Note 17 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, a 4nm chipset with an octa-core CPU reaching up to 2.4GHz. The phone comes with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage in the Indian lineup, with virtual memory expansion also supported.
The camera setup includes a 50-megapixel primary camera with OIS and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, while the front camera has a 16-megapixel sensor. The phone supports up to 1080p video recording from the front camera.
The Pro gets a 9,000mAh silicon-carbon battery with 67W wired charging and 22.5W wired reverse charging. This makes battery capacity one of the biggest differences between the two models, although both are built around the same large-screen, high-endurance approach.

Redmi Note 17 Pro Series Software and AI Features
Both smartphones run Android 16 with HyperOS 3. Redmi has stated that the phones will receive four OS upgrades and six years of security updates. The software also brings AI-based tools such as AI Erase Pro, AI Glare Removal and Google’s Gemini and Circle to Search features.
