1. The Revolutionaries – Prime Video

The Revolutionaries is a Hindi period drama inspired by the lesser-known stories of India’s freedom struggle. Created and directed by Nikkhil Advani, the series follows four young revolutionaries who choose armed resistance against British rule rather than constitutional methods.

The series stars Bhuvan Bam, Rohit Saraf, Pratibha Ranta and Gurfateh Pirzada in the lead roles. Based on Sanjeev Sanyal’s book Revolutionaries: The Other Story Of How India Won Its Freedom, the series is streaming on Prime Video from September 11 in Hindi, with dubbed versions available in several Indian languages.

2. Ghamasaan – ZEE5

Set against the rugged backdrop of Bundelkhand, Ghamasaan centres on the clash between feared dacoit Maharaj, played by Arshad Warsi, and IPS officer Aditya Singh, played by Pratik Gandhi. The officer is tasked with hunting down Maharaj, whose influence extends beyond his criminal empire.

Directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia, the Hindi action drama also stars Ishita Dutta and Rajpal Yadav. Ghamasaan premiered directly on ZEE5 on September 11, giving viewers a gritty crime story built around power, justice and the confrontation between its two central characters.

3. Prince of Mollywood – JioHotstar

This Malayalam comedy-drama follows Firoz, played by Dain Davis, a young man determined to become a film star. His biggest obstacle is closer to home: his wealthy father does not support his son’s ambition to enter the Malayalam film industry.

Firoz’s pursuit of a career in cinema forms the central conflict of the series, with family expectations and his own ambitions creating much of the drama. Prince of Mollywood premiered on JioHotstar on September 11.

4. Ali Baba Aur 40 Bhoot – JioHotstar

Ali Baba Aur 40 Bhoot gives the familiar Ali Baba concept a supernatural twist. The story follows Alisha, a woman who relies on science and logic, as she becomes involved in a mystery involving ghosts and unexplained events.

Asha Negi and Vishal Vashishtha lead the cast, with the series combining horror, comedy and mystery. The Hotstar Specials title began streaming on JioHotstar on September 11, with its story revolving around a missing father, supernatural forces and a mystery involving 40 ghosts.

5. Go Team! – Netflix

Netflix’s Spanish comedy Go Team! follows employees of a struggling cheese company whose team-building trip takes an unexpected turn when they are sent to a remote village. The situation gets worse when they learn that layoffs are on the way.

The workplace comedy stars Alexandra Jiménez, Maribel Verdú and Pedro Casablanc. Netflix confirmed that Go Team! premiered globally on September 11, with the film combining workplace rivalry, office politics and comedy.

Friday OTT Releases: What To Watch This Weekend

September 11 brings a particularly varied OTT lineup for Indian viewers. The Revolutionaries is aimed at viewers looking for a historical drama, while Ghamasaan offers a darker crime-action story.
