Nokia 2360 Flip Launched: Features, SOS Button and Price

HMD has introduced the Nokia 2360 Flip, a clamshell feature phone designed primarily for senior citizens, with parental controls that also make it suitable as a basic phone for school students. Its key features include remote management through the Family Assist app, a dedicated SOS button and restrictions on calls, messages and selected apps.
The phone combines physical keys, two displays and a removable battery. However, there is one important limitation for buyers: it supports 2G connectivity only, with no 4G or 5G support. Family Assist: Manage the Phone Remotely
The Nokia 2360 Flip’s biggest differentiator is Family Assist, a free companion app available for Android and iOS. It allows family members to manage supported phone settings remotely through SMS commands, without requiring a mobile data plan on the Nokia handset.
Family members can add contacts, adjust volume, schedule reminders and configure SOS settings. They can also update important numbers, such as a doctor’s contact, without handling the phone physically.
SOS Button for Emergency Alerts
The phone features a dedicated SOS button on its rear panel. Holding it for three seconds triggers a call to a preset emergency number while simultaneously sending text alerts to up to five emergency contacts.
Family members can configure the emergency contacts and message through the Family Assist app. The feature depends on network availability and successful call and SMS delivery. It is not a replacement for public emergency services.

Parental Controls and School Mode
The Nokia 2360 Flip includes built-in parental controls protected by a Family PIN. Parents can restrict incoming and outgoing calls and text messages to approved contacts, helping limit unwanted communication.
Its School Mode reduces distractions by restricting the phone to the clock and emergency calls. Parents can also block selected applications, including the camera and games. These controls can be configured directly on the handset without using the companion app.
Display and Design: Two Screens for Easier Use
The phone has a 2.8-inch QVGA main display with large icons and clear text. A smaller 1.77-inch external screen displays caller information, allowing users to identify incoming calls without opening the handset.
Other convenience features include a loudspeaker, physical volume buttons and flip-to-answer and close-to-end-call functionality. It also supports hearing aids under the HAC2011 compatibility standard.

Battery, Storage and Other Specifications
The Nokia 2360 Flip packs a removable 1,450mAh battery. HMD rates it for up to 15 days of standby time and 27.5 hours of talk time, although actual battery life will depend on usage and network conditions.
It runs HMD’s S30+ operating system and includes a basic QVGA rear camera with LED flash, FM radio, USB Type-C charging and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone has 4MB RAM and 4MB internal storage, with microSD card support up to 32GB.
Nokia 2360 Flip: Colours, Price and Availability
HMD lists three colour options: Charcoal, Burgundy and Teal. However, the company has not confirmed the phone’s retail price or country-wise availability on its official product page.
Indian buyers should also consider the 2G-only limitation before purchasing. Network compatibility will depend on the availability of a supported 2G service from their mobile operator.
Is the Nokia 2360 Flip Worth Considering?
The Nokia 2360 Flip focuses on basic communication, emergency access and family-managed controls rather than smartphone features. Its remote setup, SOS button and School Mode could appeal to families looking for a simpler phone for older relatives or children.
However, the lack of 4G support is a major consideration, particularly in markets where 2G coverage is limited or unavailable. Buyers should check local network compatibility and confirmed availability before considering the handset.
