Xiaomi has published the global rollout schedule for HyperOS 4, its Android 17-based software update. The stable release is scheduled to reach eligible Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO smartphones and tablets in three phases, starting in early November 2026 and continuing through December.

The update brings a redesigned interface, smoother animations, performance improvements and new AI tools. However, the rollout dates are estimates, not guaranteed installation dates. Availability will depend on the device model, region, carrier and software development progress.

HyperOS 4: What’s New?

1. Soft Light Glass Design

HyperOS 4 introduces a translucent Soft Light Glass interface with refined lighting, shadows and depth effects. Xiaomi has also redesigned parts of the lock screen, notification area and home screen.

Users get notification stacking, flexible clock styling, resizable home-screen folders and widget stacking on supported devices. Some visual features will remain model-dependent.

2. Performance and Animation Improvements

Xiaomi has updated workload scheduling, memory preloading and its application runtime environment to improve responsiveness and multitasking.

In Xiaomi’s internal tests on the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, the total launch time for 30 apps after nine hours of use was 8.7% lower than with HyperOS 3. The company also reports improvements in camera launch speed and frame stability.

These are manufacturer test results, so actual performance may vary by device and usage.

3. New Xiaomi HyperAI Features

HyperOS 4 expands Xiaomi HyperAI with tools designed to make everyday tasks easier. AI Voice Notes can organise recordings, generate summaries, extract to-do lists and create mind maps.

AI Speech Recognition adds meeting transcription and summarisation tools, while AI Translate Conversation supports face-to-face translation. AI Gallery Search and AI Creativity Assistant bring additional search and editing capabilities.

Feature availability depends on the phone, language and region. Not every AI tool will be available on every eligible device.

4. Privacy and Security Upgrades

Xiaomi highlights improved data protection through secure communication channels, on-device privacy storage and edge-to-cloud AI security measures.

Some advanced protections, including cloud-based privacy computing, are restricted to supported devices and services.

How to Check for the HyperOS 4 Update

When the update becomes available for your device, you can check manually:

  1. Open Settings on your Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO phone.
  2. Select About Phone.
  3. Tap the HyperOS version section.
  4. Check for available updates.
  5. Download and install HyperOS 4 if it appears.

Keep your phone connected to Wi-Fi and ensure sufficient battery charge before installation. If the update is not available yet, wait for the next rollout batch.

Will Your Phone Receive HyperOS 4 in India?

The published schedule covers global versions of Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO devices sold outside mainland China. It does not provide a separate India-specific installation date for every model.

A device appearing on the list means it is scheduled for the update, not that the OTA notification will arrive on the first day of its rollout phase. Xiaomi may release updates gradually across regions and device variants.

Indian users should check the software update section on their phones and follow official Xiaomi regional announcements for availability.
