Ather Konarc Electric Scooter Launched at Rs 99,999

Ather Energy has launched the new Ather Konarc electric scooter in India at a starting price of Rs 99,999. The Konarc is positioned as a more practical and mass-market offering from Ather, bringing a new platform, multiple battery options and a more family-friendly design to the company’s electric scooter range.

The Konarc will be offered with different claimed IDC range options, going up to 161km for the version currently available. A 200km IDC version has also been announced, but it is not yet available for purchase.

Ather Konarc price and variants

The Konarc S range has been announced with four range options: 100km, 125km, 161km and 200km IDC. At launch, the 100km version starts at Rs 99,999, while the 125km and 161km versions cost Rs 1,21,999 and Rs 1,44,999 respectively.

The 200km version is part of the planned Konarc line-up, but its price has not yet been announced. Ather has also announced Konarc Z versions with 125km and 161km claimed IDC range, with their detailed pricing and availability to follow.

The 200km range needs a little context

The 200km figure is the biggest headline attached to the Konarc, but it is important to understand what buyers can actually get at launch. The 161km IDC version is currently the highest-range version available, while the 200km variant remains a future option.

This makes the Rs 99,999 starting price and the 200km headline two separate pieces of information. The entry-level Konarc is not a 200km scooter, so buyers should look at the individual variant before comparing prices and range.

Ather Konarc- Built for everyday Indian riding

Ather has taken a noticeably more practical approach with the Konarc. It uses the company’s new EL platform, along with a steel unibody chassis and metal body, while the 1,352mm wheelbase is intended to provide greater stability and comfort.

The suspension setup includes 90mm of travel at the front and 100mm at the rear. The scooter gets a 14-inch front wheel and 12-inch rear wheel, giving it a more substantial stance while retaining the familiar proportions of a city scooter.

Up to 4.7kW peak power for Ather Konarc

The Konarc uses different battery and motor configurations depending on the variant. The higher-spec version gets a motor producing up to 4.7kW of peak power, with the 3.5kWh version claiming up to 161km of IDC range.

Ather has also introduced its Advanced Electronic Braking System, or AeBS, with the Konarc. The system is designed to improve braking behaviour across different road surfaces and conditions.

Practicality is a major part of the package

The Konarc is not being positioned simply as a cheaper Ather. It gets 31 litres of boot space, which should make it considerably more useful for everyday errands, shopping and commuting.

The scooter also brings connected features, navigation and rider-focused technology. Ather’s MagicKey system provides access to the boot, while the new platform has been developed with easier manufacturing, servicing and charging in mind.

Battery warranty adds another layer of ownership confidence

Battery life remains one of the biggest considerations when buying an electric scooter, particularly for customers moving from petrol scooters. Ather is therefore offering extended battery warranty options for the Konarc, including plans covering up to 8 years or 80,000km and 10 years or 1,00,000km.

The availability and applicable terms can vary by plan, so buyers should check the exact warranty package for their chosen Konarc variant before purchase.

When will Ather Konarc deliveries start?

The Konarc S 125 and S 161 are the initial versions planned for customer deliveries, with the rollout beginning in September 2026 in a phased manner across select states.

Ather is expected to expand availability as production and deliveries ramp up. The company has also opened bookings for select variants and markets.
