Vivo V80 Display

The Vivo V80 features a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display with a resolution of 2750 x 1260 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. The panel supports P3 wide colour gamut and has a pixel density of 459ppi.

Vivo lists local peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits and HBM brightness of 1,800 nits. The phone also gets an ultra-low brightness mode that can take the display down to around 1 nit, which should be useful for viewing the screen in darker surroundings.

The 144Hz refresh rate is one of the notable upgrades over the previous generation, particularly for smoother scrolling, animations and supported games.

Vivo V80 Camera

Photography remains one of the biggest selling points of the Vivo V80. The rear camera system is co-developed with ZEISS and combines three cameras: a 50MP ZEISS OIS main camera, a 50MP ZEISS Night Telephoto camera and an 8MP ZEISS ultra-wide camera.

The primary camera uses Sony’s LYTIA 700V sensor with optical image stabilisation. The 50MP Night Telephoto camera uses the Sony IMX882 sensor, also gets OIS and provides 3x optical zoom, with Vivo advertising up to 100x zoom capability.

For selfies and group photographs, the phone has a 50MP ZEISS Group Selfie camera with autofocus and a 92-degree field of view. The camera system also supports 4K video recording at up to 60fps and Vivo’s cinematic video features.

Vivo has also added AI-based creative camera tools, including AI lighting features, Live Sticker Collage and AI Diwali Portrait 2.0. Feature availability can vary by region and software version.

Vivo V80 Processor and Performance

The Vivo V80 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 mobile platform, built on a 4nm process with an octa-core CPU clocked at up to 2.8GHz. The Indian model comes with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512GB UFS 3.1 storage.

The phone also supports Vivo’s extended RAM feature, with up to 16GB of additional software-based RAM capacity listed by the company. A 4,300-square-mm vapour cooling chamber is also included to help manage heat during demanding workloads.

For everyday users, the combination should comfortably cover social media, photography, streaming, multitasking and gaming, while the 512GB option gives heavy users considerably more storage headroom.

Vivo V80 Battery and Charging

Battery capacity is another major highlight of the Vivo V80. It packs a 7,200mAh battery, which Vivo describes as the largest battery capacity among its V-series smartphones launched in India as of October 6, 2026. The battery has a typical capacity of 7,200mAh and a rated capacity of 7,015mAh.

The phone supports 90W FlashCharge. Vivo says its fast-charging mode can take the battery to 50% in around 30 minutes, although actual charging time can vary depending on conditions and usage.

Vivo’s laboratory figures claim up to 14 hours of navigation and up to 39.5 hours of local video playback. These are controlled-test results and should not be treated as guaranteed everyday battery life.

Vivo V80 Software and AI Features

The Vivo V80 is the first V-series smartphone in India to ship with Android 17-based OriginOS 7. The software brings Vivo’s newer AI and productivity features to the phone, including Snap Note, Pet Pals and Security Shield.

Vivo is also promising six years of security updates. The company notes that the six-year period is calculated from the product’s initial global launch date, while availability and duration can vary by market and device.

Vivo V80 Design and Durability

The Vivo V80 measures 157.52 x 74.33 x 7.69mm and weighs about 203 grams. It uses a glass back and features a 3D ultrasonic single-point fingerprint sensor.

The smartphone carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance under specified laboratory conditions. Vivo also cautions that resistance can decrease with normal wear and that liquid damage is not covered by warranty.

Connectivity includes 5G, dual SIM support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, GPS and USB Type-C. The phone is available in three finishes: Stellar Black, Horizon Blue and Sunrise Anthem.

Vivo V80 Launch Offers

Vivo is offering launch benefits on the V80, including a flat 10% instant cashback on eligible payment methods and a 10% exchange bonus. The company is also offering options such as easy EMI plans, while buyers can receive 100GB of Google One storage as part of the launch benefits.

Offer eligibility, participating banks and the applicable terms can vary, so buyers should check the offer conditions at the time of purchase.

Vivo V80: What Stands Out

The Vivo V80 brings together three areas that are increasingly important in the premium smartphone segment: camera capability, battery capacity and long-term software support. The ZEISS camera setup adds a 50MP telephoto camera to the main sensor, while the 50MP autofocus selfie camera is aimed at group and portrait photography.

The 7,200mAh battery is arguably the other major differentiator. Combined with 90W charging, a 144Hz 1.5K display and Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, the V80 is positioned as an all-round premium V-series upgrade rather than a camera-only phone.

With prices ranging from Rs 62,999 to Rs 79,999, the 8GB + 256GB variant at Rs 69,999 sits in the middle of the range and may be the more practical option for buyers who want additional storage without moving to the top-end price.
