Honda XR300L Price and Availability

The Honda XR300L is priced at Rs 1.83 lakh ex-showroom in Bengaluru. Honda has started accepting bookings through its BigWing dealership network, with the motorcycle positioned alongside the company’s larger premium motorcycles.

Honda has also launched the XR300 Rally at Rs 2.08 lakh, which is based on the same engine and platform but adds equipment aimed at longer-distance adventure riding. The XR300L, however, follows a simpler dual-sport approach with a stronger focus on off-road versatility.

Honda XR300L Engine and Performance

The XR300L gets a 293.5cc single-cylinder engine with air-and-oil cooling. The motor is closely related to the engine used in the Honda CB300F, but Honda has not yet published the complete India-spec power and torque figures on its website.

International versions of the same engine produce around 24.3hp and 26.5Nm, while the CB300F’s India-spec motor has produced similar output. These figures should therefore not be treated as confirmed India-spec XR300L output until Honda releases the official numbers.

The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox, giving the motorcycle a setup suited to both everyday riding and mixed-terrain use.

Built for Off-Road Riding

The XR300L’s design clearly reflects its dual-sport purpose. It gets a high front fender, slim bodywork, narrow profile and raised exhaust, giving the motorcycle the typical appearance of an off-road machine.

Suspension travel is long at both ends, while the 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke wheels are designed to handle uneven surfaces better than conventional road-focused motorcycle wheel sizes.

The combination should make the XR300L more suitable for trails, loose surfaces and broken roads while retaining enough road-going practicality for everyday use.

Switchable Rear ABS and Traction Control

Honda has equipped the XR300L with dual-channel ABS, but the system also gets an off-road-friendly feature. Riders can switch off ABS intervention at the rear wheel, allowing greater control when sliding the rear wheel on loose surfaces.

The motorcycle also gets traction control, adding electronic assistance when grip levels change between tarmac, gravel and other surfaces.

This combination gives the XR300L a more serious off-road equipment package than a conventional commuter-oriented motorcycle.

Honda XR300L Design and Hardware

The motorcycle uses a compact dual-sport design rather than the larger bodywork associated with adventure-tourers. Its beak-style front fender, slim fuel tank area and raised exhaust contribute to its off-road character.

The spoke-wheel setup further reinforces its purpose, while disc brakes at both ends provide the stopping hardware needed for both road and trail riding.

The overall approach is straightforward: keep the motorcycle relatively narrow and manageable while providing the suspension and wheel configuration required for mixed-terrain riding.

Honda XR300L vs XPulse 210 and KLX230

The XR300L enters a segment that already includes the Hero XPulse 210 and Kawasaki KLX230. The Honda’s Rs 1.83 lakh starting price puts it very close to the Kawasaki, while the XPulse 210 remains the more affordable option.

The XPulse 210 starts at around Rs 1.68 lakh, while the Kawasaki KLX230 is priced at around Rs 1.84 lakh. The Honda therefore sits almost directly between the two in terms of positioning, while offering a larger 293.5cc engine.

The more important difference will be how the XR300L’s engine, weight, suspension setup and real-world off-road ability compare once detailed India-spec figures and riding impressions become available.

Honda XR300L: What Makes It Interesting?

The XR300L gives Honda a dedicated dual-sport motorcycle in a segment where buyers increasingly have options between lightweight trail machines and larger adventure motorcycles.

Its 293.5cc engine, 21/18-inch wheel setup, long-travel suspension, switchable rear ABS and traction control make it more than just a road motorcycle with adventure styling.

For buyers considering an XPulse 210 or KLX230, the XR300L adds another option at a competitive price. The final picture will become clearer once Honda publishes the complete India-spec specifications and the motorcycle reaches dealerships.
