JioBharat 4G Phone at Rs 1,499 With 6 Months Free Recharge

Jio has introduced a limited-period 10th anniversary offer on eligible JioBharat 4G feature phones in India. Under the offer, customers pay Rs 1,499 upfront for an eligible handset and receive six consecutive recharge cycles with bundled connectivity benefits.

The offer is aimed particularly at users still relying on 2G phones and looking to move to 4G without taking on the usual handset and recharge costs separately. Jio says the included benefits can bring the effective handset cost down to Rs 299, although Rs 1,499 has to be paid upfront.

JioBharat 4G Offer Explained

The anniversary offer combines an eligible JioBharat 4G handset with six recharge benefits. Each benefit covers one 28-day cycle and provides 14GB of total data, unlimited domestic voice calling and 300 SMS. The data allocation is defined as 0.50GB of high-speed data per day.

The benefits are not simply added to the phone’s purchase price as an instant discount. Customers first purchase and activate an eligible device, with the Jio SIM linked to the device’s IMEI and mobile number. The next recharge benefit is credited after the required eligibility conditions are maintained for each cycle.

Why Jio Says the Effective Cost Is Rs 299

Jio’s calculation is based on the value of the bundled connectivity. The company estimates that a user spending around Rs 199 per month would spend approximately Rs 1,200 over six months. Subtracting that estimated recharge value from the Rs 1,499 purchase price gives an effective handset cost of Rs 299.

This means Rs 299 is an effective cost, not the amount customers pay at checkout. The actual upfront payment remains Rs 1,499, while the value comes through the six included recharge cycles.

Offer Validity and Eligibility

Jio’s official terms state that the anniversary offer runs from September 15 through October 20, 2026, unless extended or withdrawn earlier. The customer must purchase and activate an eligible device during this period to participate.

The offer can be used with an existing Jio SIM, a new Jio SIM or a number ported to Jio, subject to Jio’s eligibility checks. The SIM and eligible device must maintain the required IMEI and mobile-number pairing during the benefit period, and Jio specifies that the Jio SIM should remain in the primary SIM slot.

Six Months of Data and Calling Benefits

Each of the six recharge cycles lasts 28 days and includes 14GB of data, equivalent to 0.50GB per day of high-speed data. Customers also receive unlimited domestic voice calling and 300 SMS during each cycle.

Across the six cycles, that works out to 84GB of total data, along with unlimited domestic calling and 1,800 SMS, provided all six benefits are successfully credited and used within their respective validity periods.

JioBharat Features Beyond Calling

JioBharat phones are built around more than basic voice connectivity. Jio’s platform supports features such as UPI payments through JioPay, while JioBharat devices also provide access to entertainment services and other digital features.

The JioBharat range is positioned as an affordable 4G alternative to traditional 2G feature phones, with keypad-based devices offering internet-enabled services without requiring a conventional smartphone. Jio’s current device catalogue includes multiple JioBharat models, although the company has not identified the specific models covered by this anniversary offer.

What Happens If You Miss a Recharge Cycle?

The six benefits are linked to consecutive recharge cycles rather than being an unrestricted six-month voucher balance. Jio states that unused benefits lapse after their respective recharge cycle and cannot be transferred or carried forward.

The offer benefits are also tied to the eligible device and SIM combination. Changing the device outside Jio’s permitted warranty-replacement process can affect eligibility, so customers should check the offer conditions before moving the SIM to another handset.

JioBharat 4G Offer: What Customers Should Know

For users upgrading from 2G, the main attraction is the combination of a 4G feature phone and six connectivity cycles rather than the Rs 299 figure alone. The Rs 1,499 upfront payment remains important when comparing the offer with other feature phones or standalone recharge plans.

The biggest point to check before buying is model eligibility. Jio’s official anniversary terms define an eligible device but do not publish a specific JioBharat model list, so buyers should confirm that the particular handset is covered by the offer before completing the purchase.
