Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, but Rockstar Games has not announced when its next multiplayer experience will arrive. A new comment from Twitch CEO Dan Clancy has now pointed to 2027 as the possible window.

The Timeline: GTA 6 is officially scheduled to release on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Clancy’s “next year” comment points directly to a 2027 multiplayer release window.

GTA 6 Multiplayer Could Arrive Next Year

Speaking to Bloomberg, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy said Twitch had spent considerable time discussing Rockstar’s plans and helping the company think about how creators could engage with the game. He said the bigger Twitch surge would come the following year when multiplayer launches.

However, this is not an official GTA 6 multiplayer announcement from Rockstar. The developer has not confirmed the existence, name or release date of a new GTA Online experience, so 2027 should currently be treated as a reported window rather than a confirmed launch date.

GTA 6 Will Launch as a Single-Player Game

Rockstar’s current official GTA 6 information describes the November release as a single-player experience featuring Jason and Lucia. The game is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with no PC launch date announced so far.

This would also mean GTA 6’s multiplayer component could follow separately rather than arriving alongside the main game. Rockstar has not explained whether it will be called GTA Online, GTA 6 Online or use a different name.

What Happened With GTA 5 Online?

There is a precedent for Rockstar separating the single-player launch from its online experience. GTA 5 released in September 2013, while GTA Online arrived a few weeks later.

The current situation is different because Rockstar has not yet revealed any multiplayer details for GTA 6. For now, the November 19 launch remains the only officially confirmed GTA 6 release date.
