Motorola Edge 70 Max Launched in India: Price, Specs and Features

Motorola has expanded its premium smartphone lineup in India with the launch of the Motorola Edge 70 Max. The new handset focuses on three areas many buyers care about most: long battery life, flagship-level performance, and a high-quality display. Powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, the phone also brings a 7,100mAh battery, 144Hz AMOLED display, and Android 16 out of the box.

The smartphone joins Motorola’s growing Edge 70 family and is aimed at users who want a flagship experience without stepping into the ultra-premium price bracket. Sales begin later this month through Flipkart and Motorola’s official online store.

A familiar Motorola design with a focus on durability

The Motorola Edge 70 Max follows the company’s clean and minimal design language while adding durability upgrades for everyday use. The phone is available in three Pantone-curated colours: Pantone Aqua Gray, Pantone Dark Shadow, and Pantone Ice Melt.

Despite housing a large 7,100mAh battery, Motorola has managed to keep the phone relatively slim at 8.29mm thick. The handset also carries IP68 and IP69 ratings, offering protection against dust, water immersion, and high-pressure water jets. For users who often travel or work outdoors, these certifications add an extra layer of confidence.

Display built for streaming, gaming and everyday scrolling

One of the biggest highlights is the phone’s 6.8-inch QHD+ Extreme AMOLED display.

The panel supports a 144Hz adaptive refresh rate, making animations, scrolling and supported games appear noticeably smoother than standard 60Hz displays. Motorola has also equipped the phone with a 360Hz touch sampling rate, helping improve touch responsiveness during gaming.

The display reaches up to 7,000 nits peak brightness, making outdoor visibility easier even under harsh sunlight. It also supports 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut, displays over one billion colours, and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 powers the experience

Under the hood, the Motorola Edge 70 Max is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, built on an advanced 3nm manufacturing process.

The processor combines two performance cores clocked up to 3.8GHz with six efficiency cores running at 3.3GHz. This setup is designed to deliver fast app launches, smoother multitasking, and improved power efficiency.

Motorola pairs the chipset with up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 4.1 storage, allowing apps, games and files to load quickly.

To keep temperatures under control during heavy workloads, the company has included a 5,500 sq mm vapour chamber cooling system, which helps dissipate heat more efficiently while gaming or recording high-resolution videos.
