Renault Kwid Launched: Price, Features & What’s New

Renault has launched the 2026 Renault Kwid in India with a refreshed design, a simplified variant lineup and revised pricing. While this is not a complete redesign, the latest update brings cosmetic changes inside and out, adds a new steering wheel and updated branding, and continues with the familiar 1.0-litre petrol engine. Prices now start at ₹4.53 lakh (ex-showroom), with deliveries set to begin soon.

Quick Highlights- Renault Kwid Launched

  • 2026 Renault Kwid launched with prices starting at ₹4.53 lakh.
  • Variant lineup simplified to Evolution and Climber.
  • Gets a new Renault logo, updated wheel covers and refreshed styling.
  • Cabin features a new three-spoke steering wheel inspired by the Renault Kiger.
  • Continues with the 1.0-litre petrol engine paired with 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options.
  • Dealer-fitted CNG kit available for manual variants.

What’s new in the 2026 Renault Kwid?

The latest update focuses on refining the hatchback rather than changing its core formula. The overall silhouette remains familiar, but Renault has introduced several visual and practical updates to keep the Kwid competitive in the entry-level hatchback segment.

The biggest changes include a revised variant lineup, refreshed exterior details, updated interior elements and new branding. The mechanical package remains unchanged.

Simpler variant lineup

One of the most noticeable changes is the simplified variant structure. The earlier Authentic and Techno trims have been discontinued. The 2026 Renault Kwid is now available in just two variants:

  • Evolution
  • Climber

Both variants can be ordered with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT, making the range easier to understand for first-time buyers.

Exterior updates

The design remains instantly recognisable, but several details have been refreshed. The front and rear now feature Renault’s latest Nouvel’R diamond logo, replacing the older emblem. The car also receives updated wheel covers, refreshed KWID badging and white inserts on the roof rails.

Other design elements, including the split headlamp layout, LED daytime running lamps, bumpers and tail lamps, continue from the outgoing model.

Interior changes

Inside, the cabin layout remains largely unchanged, but Renault has introduced a few updates. The biggest addition is a new three-spoke steering wheel borrowed from the Renault Kiger, giving the dashboard a more modern appearance. The steering wheel also houses controls for the infotainment system.

The familiar dashboard layout, touchscreen infotainment system and cabin design continue, making the transition easy for existing Kwid owners.

Features on offer

The 2026 Renault Kwid continues to offer features aimed at everyday city driving. Some of the key equipment includes:

  • 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system
  • Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
  • Digital instrument cluster
  • Manual air conditioning
  • Power windows
  • Rear parking camera
  • Rear parking sensors
  • Remote keyless entry

  • Up to six airbags
  • Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
  • Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
  • Hill Start Assist on AMT variants
  • ABS with EBD
  • Rear parking sensors
  • Rear-view camera

Engine and transmission

There are no mechanical changes under the bonnet. The 2026 Renault Kwid continues with the familiar 1.0-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 68PS of power and 91Nm of torque.

Buyers can choose between:

  • 5-speed manual transmission
  • 5-speed AMT

Renault is also offering an authorised dealer-fitted CNG kit for manual variants at an additional cost. The kit is installed through authorised workshops and is covered under the company’s standard warranty terms.

EvolutionManual₹4.53 lakh
EvolutionAMT₹4.90 lakh
ClimberManual₹5.15 lakh
ClimberAMT₹5.61 lakh

All prices are ex-showroom.

What hasn’t changed?

While the facelift introduces several cosmetic revisions, many core aspects remain the same. The hatchback retains:

  • The same 1.0-litre petrol engine
  • The existing platform
  • Similar dimensions
  • Familiar dashboard layout
  • Choice of manual and AMT transmissions

The update is therefore centred on styling, equipment and simplifying the buying experience rather than introducing a new generation model.

Availability

Bookings for the 2026 Renault Kwid have opened through Renault dealerships and online channels. Deliveries are expected to begin shortly across India.

Rivals

The 2026 Renault Kwid continues to compete in India’s entry-level hatchback segment against models such as the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 and Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, while also appealing to buyers looking for an affordable city-focused hatchback.

Bottom Line

The 2026 Renault Kwid brings a series of incremental updates rather than a complete overhaul. Buyers get refreshed styling, a simplified two-variant lineup, updated interior touches and additional safety features, while the familiar 1.0-litre petrol engine and transmission choices continue unchanged. With prices starting at ₹4.53 lakh (ex-showroom), the latest Kwid remains Renault’s entry point into the Indian passenger vehicle market.
